Winter Theme
1. Word Family Activity- Take a paper plate and make a snowman face on it. You can add a hat, scarf, etc... Write a word family ending (-at, -ing, -et, -og, -un) on a new plate and then attach it to the bottom of the snowman face with string, yarn, stapler, etc... Then, let students give rimes for the word family you chose as you record the words onto new plates and add them to the chain. See how tall you can make your snowman and be sure to display him in the classroom. You will probably see new Word Family snowmen being made during choice time! Help them out with some pre-cut white circles in your writing center!
